Behind the scenes at a Wedding Shoot

Behind the scenes at wedding shoot

A while ago you may have seen photos of a visit to Coombe Trenchard House in Devon. If not then you can see them here, there’s lots of the hours and the Gardens. Coombe Trenchard is one of Devon’s newest wedding venues and a real arts and crafts gem. I was there to take some of my designs to a photo shoot being run by Blue Fizz Events for Wed Magazine. The very skilled photographer was Lucy Wallace who is available for weddings, not just fashion.

These are some of my photos from behind the scenes of the shoot. There’s a lot of my stationery as you might expect but also the exquisitely styled rooms and spaces. But keep a look out for a very stunning cake.

Wedding Table Plans

Canvas table plan

Table plans are something a lot of weddings can overlook. There is so much to do and that hazy idea of we’ll make our own can so easily get over taken by events. Guests cancelling and replacements being drafted in. Alterations to clothes. Checking the caterer is accommodating the bizarre dietary requirements you might be getting. Making favours, there can be a lot to do! So an easy way to order a table plan, whether you planned to or suddenly time is looking scare could be a life saver. Either way I’ve setup a new website to make this much easier. It uses some of the collections you may already be familiar with from Artemis Stationery. Though instead of needing to email me this lets you order at a click of a few buttons and sending me your details via a word doc or email. Visit AS Wedding Table Plans here.

Like Artemis Stationery you will be able to buy my very popular stretched canvas wedding table plans. These make brilliant keepsakes for your wedding, many of my clients who choose them display them in their homes after the wedding. They make a brilliant and often more affordable alternative to framed table plans. You can also buy table plans printed onto card which can be mounted or are ready for you to frame. If you want me to frame them that’s also possible. But email me at contact@artemisstationery to discuss your needs.

My thanks Tracy and Laura at the Manor Hotel in Yeovil, Somerset for letting me take some photographs outside their beautiful conservatory.

A visit to Coombe Trenchard House, Devon

Combe Trenchard House, Devon, Wedding Venue

There are some days you wish could last forever. If you have one of those days while you’re working you’re a very lucky individual. I count myself to of been very lucky recently when fate took me down to Lewtrenchard in Devon near Cornwall. I found myself at the most beautiful Arts and Crafts Manor, something which if you’ve ever seen Miss Marple or Poirot was like stepping back in time. It’s a beautiful home, surrounded by beautiful gardens in a beautiful part of the country and I was there on one of the nicest days of the year. This though is a wedding and design blog, so why was I there as I wish it was my home but sadly it’s not.

Well the name of the home I was Coombe Trenchard (visit the website for Coombe Trenchard), there are some very lucky individuals out there who have experienced either the gardens when they have an open day or stayed in one of the four rooms which comprise possibly the most special bed and breakfast in the country. Now though Coombe Trenchard is starting to play host to weddings. Only a very limited number of weddings, after all this is not your standard wedding venue with weddings 5 days a week. Sarah the owner told me she only wants to host weddings where she knows the those getting married their truly value the surroundings. Where the Bride and Groom would feel like part of the family as it was the wedding of Sarah’s son which Coombe Trenchard hosted that was the inspiration for wanting to welcome around ten weddings a year into her home.

To mark the beginning of this adventure Sarah invited Tracy and Bridget from Blue Fizz events (visit website) to host a styled shoot at Coombe Trenchard which is where I came in and drove down to Devon with some stationery designed especially for the occasion. Stationery is a pretty small part of a styled shoot, most eyes are on the clothes and the setting. Both of which dazzled. That though is for another time. The fine folk at Wed Magazine have first use of the photos taken by Lucy, possibly the only person who was glad that day was over. She was soldiering on through a really heavy cold and was trying to keep away from people to avoid passing it on. I think she needed a lay down at lunch. Though what a lunch, I was expecting to take sandwiches but rather I was told lunch would be there. Sarah though treated us to prosecco in the sun at the rear of the house overlooking the beautiful gardens while an amazing buffet lunch was brought out for the various people present. Of which there were about 16 people from photographers, to models, stylists, bakers, stationers and jewellers. It has to be said Sarah is an amazing host and I have suggested my parents could really enjoy visiting it with my Gran.

My set of photos are more a behind the scenes look at the gardens and house. Behind the scenes of the shoot and inside will follow at a later date. I hope you enjoy looking at them.
