Welcome to my second post on summer wedding inspiration.  Recently I did a post on summer for those wanting to reflect summer in their wedding which concentrated on flowers.  Admittedly at the time of writing it is summer, so this article will probably be more use through the other seasons for those planning summer weddings in the future when it’s not actually summer.  I’m not going to look at actual items for purchasing or renting but rather get back to basics.  So we’re looking at some of the summer fauna having looked at flora in the previous article.  You might call this a back to basics approach.  Looking at some of the things that make summer seem like well summer! Rather than looking at other peoples interpretation of it.

Summer Wedding Inspiration: Fauna

Fauna might be rather grand as for the most part it’s the insects I’ve concentrated on.  But I think they can be rather magnificent and quite exotic.  What says summer more than a bumble bee or a butterfly.  Their colours can be amazing and while I’m not advocating a bumble bee themed wedding the thought process it might start could be say getting local honey as a wedding favour.  Or maybe the flowers in the last post could inspire seeds or potted plants.  You could choose to go with more country meadow inspired flower choices for a more rustic and country vibe.

Looking at the structure of a butterfly’s wings is something that may prove fertile ground for inspiration.  While the dried grass that the Tortoise Shell butterfly was photographed on reminded me of straw and hay bales.  Of course they’re just my ideas and interpretations.

Bespoke Wedding Stationery

Since this is a wedding stationery blog and I sell bespoke wedding stationery I’m officially obliged to mention some summery wedding stationery.  Last time I already mentioned Naples, my butterfly design and that’s particularly appropriate with this post to.  But I also want to take the chance to show off a photo from a recent photo shoot of one of my newer designs ‘The Way to Go’.  Pictured is a canvas Welcome sign which can be used to greet your guests.  I thought this picture would fit particularly well with this article.  This range is really inspired by the countryside and the little lanes that run through it.  The sign in the background can also be personalised with locations personal to you. I did get some more good photos of this collection so I think it will have to be the focus of a future article itself!
