Cakes with Style ;)

Cakes by Daisy, Molly and Me - styling by Hannah Taylor

There are lots of people that I get excited when I hear they are going to be exhibiting at a fair I’m going to.  Recently talked about Matt and Tania at the Remarkable Photobooth in this article (they’re awesome go read about their photo booth).  Quite a few are photographers and I have realised I need to chase them for photos as just putting up pictures of their stand might be a bit weird and or/pointless.  There is dynamic duo though who I have lots of great photos of as they seem to have a new and awesome display at every fair.  At wedding fairs they tend to go under the team name of ‘The Well Dressed Cake Company’ which makes sense as the team is made up of Sue from Daisy, Molly and Me (cakes) and Hannah of Hannah Taylor Wedding Stylist fame.  Hannah is a great stylist and is always coming up with new ways to display Sue’s show-stopping cakes at wedding fairs.  This does make sense as sometimes you see amazing cakes stuck on a plain cake in the corner.

They do work individually so it’s not a case of having to have cake from Sue and styled by Hannah.  It does mean there are some exceptionally nice displays when they’re at a fair.  I can whole heartedly recommend them as I really rate their work both together and seperately and as well as being very talented people they’re great company at a wedding fair and when I saw Hannah arrive at a wedding fair I’m also excited to see what she’s about to create.

You can visit Hannah website at Hannah Taylor Wedding Stylist here and Sue at Daisy, Molly and Me here.  These last photos were taken by Venetia Norrington at Bridwell Park on one of their open days.  I was there too and couldn’t resist putting my latest invitation at the time onto the table (I thought the blue would work with the seaside illustration) for Venetia to photo.

Table Name ideas: French Mountains & Cycling

France, Cycling and Weddings

The Tor de France is currently in full flow and I’m sat watching some very brave riders going up Mont Ventoux.  While my own country is enjoying what in some parts is being classed as a heat wave a combination of nice weather and Tor de France on tv has brought lots of cyclists onto the road.  So I thought it would be good to look at cycling, France and weddings.  Since I make bespoke stationery which you can see at my website Artemis Stationery we’re going to look at table name ideas.

I thought it would be quite easy to do Tor de France winners though I wasn’t too sure that would be too interested in those.  I did find a list though of the yellow jersey winners or general classification winners on Wikipedia for anyone who is interested http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Tour_de_France_general_classification_winners.  I know recent revelations about Lance Armstrong might make that a less appealing.

Mountains

So since I’ve been marvelling at the efforts of the cyclists going up what seems to me like an insanely steep mountain, that made me think about the mountains!  So I’ve gone for the Hors catégorie mountains and climbs as termed by French cycling races.  Lesser mountains are classed from 1 down to 4 but the Hors catégorie mountains are those which are considered beyond classification.  Originally being roads that were considered too steep for cars to be able to make it up.  Obviously no longer the case as all the race cars and bikes do make it up!

I thought these names would also be useful for anyone who is fond of skiing, France or both.  I’ve put them in order of the number of times the Tor de France has visited them.  Though if you are interested in cycling and weddings in general I have a small board on Pinterest where bikes and cycling have made it into people’s big days http://pinterest.com/artmsstationery/cycling-weddings/
